Usability Testing & User Research
Collaborating with subject matter experts isn't sufficient; regular and early software testing is essential. This involved real-world scenarios, software iterations, debriefing, and actionable recommendations. Creating personas, understanding roles, and testing prototypes with end users guided the process. Usability issues were addressed with targeted solutions, making healthcare UX an enjoyable endeavor.
Internal Training
I designed and led training workshops in the US and India, training software developers, clinicians, scientists and engineers on usability tenets and helping them see why we needed to "do all this extra stuff". They learned what the payoff would be for our users, customers and our revenue numbers.
