In my early days, I practiced visual design using Amiga's DeluxePaint and PhotonPaint in the 80s, followed by Photoshop and Illustrator in the 90s.
I ventured into coding with LINGO, an object-oriented language within Macromedia Director. Later, I embraced Coldfusion, akin to early .Net, and then progressed to Flash and Actionscript 1-3, akin to Javascript. Ultimately, I mastered hand-coding HTML, Javascript, and PHP.
All of this connected well with my journey of improving my skills through website design. This helped me grasp the coding constraints and, notably, the challenges browsers posed. Remember the BROWSER WARS?
I progressed into the role of Design Manager/Art Director, overseeing a team of 12+ designers. Together, we crafted designs for various automotive OEMs like Nissan, Infiniti, Scion, and Toyota. I also ensured the high quality of these designs after they were transformed into code for our template-based website CMS and hosting services.
I also produced guidance for ongoing production of the Scion designs to ensure compliance both internally and by third parties.
I learned about the Global Style Guide for Nissan Automotive from Sapient while in Los Angeles and translated that into requirements and designs for Nissan automotive dealerships, again leading a design team in designing templates.

In the early 2000's I worked with 3D, video, audio, and photography to produce hand coded websites for small businesses.  Good old days, indeed!
